People in Business will be hosting a Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) breakfast session on Thursday 4th March 2010, 8.30am - 10.30am, at The Royal Society of Arts (8 John Adam Street, London WC2N 6EZ).This session, facilitated by Jenny Davenport and Simon Barrow, authors of our book on M&A, will be an opportunity to share your own experience and hear Jenny & Simon’s views on:

• Communicating the strategic need for the M&A
• Managing the initial announcement
• Understanding how people feel
• Communicating when there is hard news (and when there is no news)
• When to establish the employer brand of the merged business and achieve management go ahead on the changes to the working experience

We are delighted to be joined on 4th March by Michael Robinson, Global Head of HR for Man Group* who will talk about his external and internal merger experience.

*Man Group is the world’s largest quoted hedge fund group (and in the FTSE 100) with a long record of acquisitions including AHL. In 2009 Man merged three separately identified businesses, based in Chicago, London and Pfaffikon (Switzerland), into one.
